Orland Township has new attorneys.
The township board voted Tuesday night to hire a Berwyn law firm, Del Galdo Law Group, as its attorneys, replacing Odelson & Sterk, an Evergreen Park firm that represents many municipal clients in the Southland. No representatives from Odelson & Sterk attended the board meeting.
The township’s relationship with Odelson & Sterk extends to the late 1990s, when the law firm was retained amid a political struggle between the township supervisor and the trustees.
Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady said the board decided to make a change because of communication problems with the firm.
“It seemed like we weren’t a top-tier priority client for them, and it was time to move on,” O’Grady said.
He said the Del Galdo firm’s fee structure is similar to that of Odelson & Sterk. Del Galdo also represents the Orland Fire Protection District.
