Man’s shooting death in Palos ruled a suicide

A South Side man who died Wednesday in a shooting in Palos Township committed suicide, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said Thursday.
Kenneth C. Mielke, 26, of the 3300 block of South Lowe Avenue in Chicago, was shot near the intersection of 107th Street and South La Grange Road and was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:40 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
