A Calumet City man died late Saturday after he was shot multiple times and crashed his car into a bush and tree at a CVS pharmacy parking lot, authorities said.
About 9 p.m., police were alerted to a single-vehicle crash at the parking lot located at 470 Torrence Ave., Calumet City Police Assistant Chief Dan Zorzi said.
Officers found Jean-Pierre Gage, 20, behind the driver’s wheel with multiple gunshot wounds, Zorzi said.
“We believe he was shot somewhere else and was attempting to get to a hospital,” Zorzi said.
Gage, of the 200 block of Calhoun Avenue in Calumet City, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 11:29 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Zorzi said no arrests have been made and investigators were continuing to collect details.
