Two people were injured Thursday when a car trailer came loose from a vehicle, crossed Cicero Avenue and struck an oncoming car at 157th Street in Oak Forest, police said.

The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Oak Forest Police Sgt. Chuck Quinn said.

“It was an empty car trailer. The man was going to pick up a car, and the trailer somehow, some way came loose as he was driving. It came across the lanes and hit the other vehicle,” Quinn said.

The accident happened at 11:41 a.m., Quinn said.

Charges were pending against the man who was hauling the trailer, he said.
