The FBI on Friday released a bank security camera photograph of “The Bounty Bandit,” a man suspected in at least seven bank robberies and one attempted bank robbery going back three years.

The man, according to the FBI, has indicated he has a weapon and is wanted most recently for a robbery Wednesday at the TCF Bank in Lansing, Ill.

Other banks robbed by the man include: Chase Bank, Merrillville, Oct. 11; TCF Bank, Munster, Oct. 2; Fifth Third Bank, Munster, March 20, 2010; TCF Bank, Oak Lawn, Ill., Feb. 10, 2010; TCF Bank, Alsip, Ill., Dec. 16, 2009, and Chase Bank, Merrillville, Oct. 3, 2009. He is also a suspect in the attempted robbery Tuesday of TCF Bank in South Holland, Ill.

The suspect has been given the nickname “The Bounty Bandit” because he passes a demand note to the victim tellers and uses a paper towel in order to avoid leaving physical evidence.

Witnesses describe him as a 30- to 40-year-old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall black male weighing 180 to 190 pounds with a dark complexion. The FBI also said the suspect may also be driving a white or light tan Buick Rendezvous, unknown plate.
