Tom Fuessel, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound quarterback with Lincoln-Way East football, has committed to Northern Illinois, but likely will shift to wide receiver in college.
His 4.34 time in the 40-yard dash ranks him among the fastest players in the area.
He also plays baseball at Lincoln-Way East.
Besides your blinding speed, what’s the key to maximizing your quickness?
I’ve been told I have good form, but my long strides are important.
Have you always boasted blazing speed?
Yes.
What’s the biggest benefit to having your type of wheels?
Getting away from pressure. When the pocket collapses, it’s always good to have the speed to get away.
You’re probably going to play receiver in college. What do you prefer, quarterback or receiver?
My heart is at quarterback, but it’s all about helping my team win.
If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
Megan Fox.
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Rob Zvonar, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?
How great of a coach he is and how much respect his players have for him.
What’s in your iPod?
I like rock, rap and country. Some Daughtry, Eminem and Jason Aldean.
State title game. You’re in it. What team would you like to play for the championship? Why?
Wheaton Warrenville South. They knocked us out of the playoffs last year.
As told to Pat Disabato
