Three Oak Lawn firefighters were injured while battling a house fire Tuesday morning.
The firefighters were released from Christ Medical Center. One suffered smoke inhalation, another’s face was burned and the third injured his back or leg, village manager Larry Deetjen said.
The fire occurred in the 4900 block of 99th Place and started about 9:15 a.m., Deetjen said.
He said the sole occupant of the house escaped unharmed, and the house sustained extensive damage and was rendered uninhabitable.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, he said.
