Eighteen passengers requested medical treatment Monday after the Pace bus they were riding collided with a car in Chicago Heights, Pace spokesman Patrick Wilmot said.
None of the injuries was life-threatening, he said. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.
The Route 352 bus was northbound on Halsted Street near 12th Street at 10:50 a.m. when a car either tried to turn in front of the bus or cut it off, Wilmot said.
“Fortunately, the accident was cleared quickly and there were no long delays in service,” he said.
Wilmot did not know how many passengers were on the bus.
Since that route has the highest ridership in the system, passengers did not have to wait long for the next bus, he said.
Chicago Heights police said some passengers were taken to St. James Hospital, but called it a “minor accident.” No tickets were issued, police said.
