A robber armed with a knife stole $40 Friday from a woman who had withdrawn the money from an ATM in Oak Lawn, police said.

The robbery occurred about 3:30 p.m. outside the Bank of America branch in the 4000 block of West 111th St., Oak Lawn Police Sgt. Patrick Barron said.

The woman, 40, was withdrawing the money when the robber, a male who appeared to be a teenager, walked up to her, displayed a knife and stole her cash, Barron said.

The robber fled on foot, then got into a car that was parked nearby and drove away.

No one had been arrested as of Friday evening, Barron said.
