Man dead, another wounded in crash near I-57

A Chicago man was killed and another person was ejected from a sport-utility vehicle when it crashed while traveling from westbound U.S. 30 to northbound Interstate 57 in Matteson on Wednesday night, according to Illinois State Police.
The single-vehicle accident happened at 11:17 p.m., state police said, adding that the westbound ramp from U.S 30 to I-57 remained closed for hours after the accident as investigators collected details.
Jevon Denton, 28, of the 10300 block of South Union Avenue, was killed in the crash, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The person who was thrown from the SUV was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
