A former Park Forest man who is serving 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl will spend another 50 years behind bars for producing child pornography, including video of his rape of an 8-year-old girl, according to federal prosecutors.
Donald Anderson, 47, also formerly of Addison, was sentenced Wednesday to the maximum 30 years for producing child pornography, and another 20 for receiving child porn, the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago said Friday.
U.S. District Judge Joan Gottschall ordered Anderson to serve the terms consecutively, and also consecutively to a 16-year state prison sentence he is serving for predatory criminal sexual abuse of a minor. By law, he must serve at least 85 percent of the federal sentence.
The judge said she ordered the sentences to be served consecutively to prevent Anderson from ever committing any similar crimes.
The U.S. attorney’s office filed charges in 2009 after Anderson was convicted and sentenced in state court for the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in 2007. In that case, he admitted videotaping one of the attacks on the girl, which led to the federal investigation.
The investigation led to evidence that Anderson raped an 8-year-old girl in his Addison home in 1997. He also videotaped the rape, resulting in the pornography production charge, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
The investigation also turned up thousands of images and videos of child pornography in Anderson’s Park Forest home.
