Two Chicago men are facing felony charges after allegedly robbing a convenience store at gunpoint Sunday in Oak Lawn, police said.
Clifton Hall Jr., 50, and Clifton R. Moore, 39, were charged with armed robbery with a firearm after allegedly robbing the store in the 10400 block of Cicero Avenue about 2:30 p.m., police said.
Police said Hall walked into the store, pointed a handgun at the cashier and ordered him to open the register. He then took money, grabbed several packages of cigarettes, fled the store and got into a light blue, four-door Cadillac that Moore was driving, police said.
An Evergreen Park police officer saw the car driving eastbound on 103rd Street, just west of Kedzie Avenue, police said. As other police officers converged, the men crashed into a tree near 103rd Street and Longwood Avenue in Chicago, police said.
The men exited the car and ran before they were caught, police said. A gun was recovered, police said.
Bail was set Monday at $200,000 for both men.
