Pulec to be named Flossmoor police chief

The Flossmoor Village Board on Tuesday will appoint Mike Pulec as police chief, effective Feb. 1, according to a news release posted Friday on the village’s website.
Pulec, the deputy chief since 2006, has been with the police department since 1992, when he started as a patrol officer, the release said. As deputy chief, he has been responsible for several administrative duties, including scheduling, activity planning and analyzing various patrol operations, the release said.
He holds several police administration certificates and is active in his professional associations, including the South Suburban Association of Police Chiefs, Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team, and the Net III Tactical Unit, the release said.
Pulec succeeds Police Chief William Miller, who is retiring after 35 years with the department, the release said.
