The first black female trustee in Dolton died Monday at her residence after a long illness.
Eva M. Nicholson, 72, served on the village board from October 1998 to May 2011.
During her time on the board, she served as chairman of its public works committee and as co-chair of the finance, health committee and Dorchester committees, according to the village.
