Tinley Park native Stacie Juris, who in December became Miss Illinois USA 2013, will serve as grand marshal for the 14th annual Downtown Tinley Irish Parade, the village said Tuesday in a news release.
The parade steps off at 2 p.m. March 10 at Central Middle School, and will proceed north on Oak Park Avenue to 171st Street.
Immediately after the parade, Juris will hold a meet-and-greet session inside the Oak Park Avenue Metra train station.
Juris, 22, was crowned Miss Illinois Teen USA in 2009. She is the first teen titleholder to become Miss Illinois USA.
She is a junior at Columbia College in Chicago and is working toward a degree in fashion business. She said she hopes to one day open her own dress boutique specializing in prom, pageant and bridal gowns.
Juris, a graduate of Lincoln-Way East High School, formerly lived in the village’s Brookside Glen neighborhood and now lives in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.
The parade had more than 60 entrants as of Tuesday.
