Here are events worth getting out of the house for on April 25.

PRESERVATION WEEK DISPLAY: Beginning at 10 a.m., Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Blvd., (708) 748-3731, and the Park Forest Historical Society will present this display, which is sponsored by the American Library Association for Preservation Week. The display includes books on preservation of historic materials, and lists of resources for libraries, museums, archives and private individuals to preserve their family history items. ONE ACTS PLAY FESTIVAL: Mother McAuley High School Theatre Seminar II students present this free event at 6 p.m. in the school’s Little Theatre, 3737 W. 99th St., Chicago. The program features original scripts showcasing the talents of the senior theater students, who direct their own show. Other shows are set for 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
