Durkin is one of the Southland’s most dangerous hitter. The left-handed-hitting infielder is headed to Michigan State in the fall. He also was a major presence on defense for Andrew’s football team.
State title game. You’re in it. Which team do you want to beat most for the championship? Why?
Lincoln-Way North. We’d be the underdog, and it would be great to beat them.
What’s your favorite baseball field to play at on the road?
Lockport. It’s a really nice field and has a great atmosphere.
What’s your favorite baseball movie?
What’s in your iPod?
Mostly country. I like the Zac Brown Band, Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith.
You’re stranded on a deserted island. You could have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?
El Famous Burrito’s tacos with beef, cheese, sour cream and lettuce.
If you could have your pick, which celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about Andrew coach Dave DeHaan, what will first come to mind?
Pride. He lives and dies Andrew, and all the guys respect him.
Why Michigan State to attend college?
They were one of the first schools to show interest, the campus is awesome and I’m going to get a great education.
Should Barry Bonds be in the Hall of Fame?
Yes, but I feel like he has to admit he took steroids.
What do you like most about baseball?
The chemistry with teammates, and how it’s a mental game.
