A Park Forest man shot his wife in the head then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide, authorities said.
Shots were fired inside the home in the 300 block of Todd Street in Park Forest about 9:35 p.m. Sunday, and officers initially responded to a report of shots fired with at least one person wounded, Park Forest police said.
Tajuanna Davis, 32; and Gerard Jimerson, 33, each were pronounced dead in their home at 1:58 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Davis died of a gunshot wound to the head and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office. Jimerson also died of a gunshot wound to the head, but his death was ruled a suicide.
Relatives in the home reported hearing a domestic disturbance between the couple before the shooting, police said, who found the pair dead on the floor of their home.
