Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Oct. 24.

Suggestions include Steger, South Chicago Heights and Orland Park.

VIDEOGAME NIGHT: Steger-South Chicago Heights Library, 54 E. 31st St., Steger, presents its monthly gaming evening for teens from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There will be Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U and Kinect games for attendees to play. There also will be pizza. Attendees can bring their own games as long as the games are rated T for teen or E for everyone. The library has more than 45,000 items available for circulation. OKTOBERFEST CELEBRATION: The Orland Township Regular Democratic Organization hosts this event at 6 p.m. at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 S. Ravinia Ave. Festivities include dinner catered by Palermo’s with free beer, wine and soft drinks. Democratic candidates for the March primary will share their platforms. Free flu shots will be available for organization members and seniors. The event also is free for seniors or organization members. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $10.
