Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Nov. 7.

Suggestions include Oak Forest and Chicago.

Open House: South Suburban College’s University & College Center, 16333 S. Kilbourn Ave., Room 5230, Oak Forest, hosts this event for the Court Reporting/Verbatim Technology Program from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Upon completion of all courses, students receive an associate in applied science degree and should be prepared to take the Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporter Examination. Information: LaTherese Cooke, program coordinator, at (708) 596-2000, Ext. 3217, or ssc.edu.

“Twelve Angry Men”: Marist High School’s Theatre Guild stages this show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at 4200 W. 115th St., Chicago. Attendees should use the west entrance. Set in 1954, the play follows 12 jurors on a homicide trial as they weigh the evidence and reasonable doubt in trying to come to a unanimous verdict. The deliberations also reveal more about each juror. Tickets at the door will be $5 for students and $8 for adults. Information: (773) 881-5300.
