Seven new stores will open during thespring and summer at two Orland Park shopping centers, according to Simon Property Group Inc.

Cosmetics manufacturer Aveda plans to open this spring on the upper level of Orland Square Mall near J.C. Penney, and LUSH Cosmetics, which makes fruit- and vegetable-based bath, hair and skin care products, also plans a spring opening on the mall’s upper level near Macy’s, according to Simon.

The mall recently completed an extensive renovation that included a children’s play area, new entryways, new signage and a remodeled and expanded food court.

Simon said that in recent months the mall, LaGrange Road and 151st Street, also has seen the opening of retailers including clothing boutique AKIRA, Armani Exchange, and handbags and accessories retailer Vera Bradley.

Simon also said that at its Lake View Plaza center, LaGrange Road and 159th Street, stores including Shoe Carnival and appliance retailer Novak & Parker will open later this year.

Current tenants at the center include Best Buy, Petco, Ulta and Value City Furniture.

Shoe Carnival will take over space formerly occupied by Famous Footwear, and is also using a portion of Dress Barn’s space, David Huesser, general manager for Lake View and Orland Square, said.

Shoe Carnival probably will open sometime during the summer, he said, while Dress Barn has begun a renovation of its space and will unveil a new store design in the spring.

Novak & Parker, a family-owned appliance store in Mount Prospect, will open adjacent to GameStop in a building just northwest of LaGrange and 159th. Recently, another tenant, CPR Cell Phone Repair, opened in that building, Huesser said.

Recently, Games Workshop, a retailer of tabletop fantasy games and futuristic miniatures, relocated from Orland Square to Lake View, opening next to Value City Furniture, Huesser said.

Also, another store that recently opened was Boombah, an athletic wear and sports apparel store that is located next to Golf Galaxy, he said.

Simon also said that Starbucks plans to open at Lake View, and Huesser said the coffee chain will locate in the former Baby’s Cheesesteak and Lemonade, 15858 S. LaGrange Road.

Plans also call for a Miracle-Ear hearing center to open.
