Harry Potter marathon starts Wednesday

Updated: July 11, 2011 10:46PM

It’s too late to buy a single ticket to the midnight Thursday premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2” at Orland Park’s Marcus Theatre.

But more than 100 tickets still are on sale for the cinema’s Harry Potter movie marathon — known to some as a Harry Potter overdose (if there is such a thing) — that includes a ticket to the premiere in 3-D.

The marathon starts at 3 p.m. Wednesday with the first three films — “Sorceror’s Stone,” “Chamber of Secrets” and “Prisoner of Azkaban.” It continues Thursday at noon for 141/2 hours straight with “Goblet of Fire,” “Order of the Phoenix,” “Half-Blood Prince” and “Deathly Hallows — Part 1,” culminating at midnight with the eighth and final movie of the series.

The marathon costs $45, but those who have purchased a ticket at Marcus for the midnight show can receive a $15 discount.
