For couples considering a romantic place for a Valentine’s Day dinner, the Golden Arches probably don’t spring to mind.
But the McDonald’s at 17171 Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, is getting decked out in holiday decor and will offer tableside service from 5 to 8 p.m. that day. There will be table coverings and centerpieces, balloons and other Valentine’s-themed decorations.
If you and your sweetheart want a seat, you’ll have to call ahead to make a reservation — (708) 429-4616. The invitation the restaurant has sent out also asks that diners wear “semi-formal” attire that evening.
It’s borrowing from fellow fast-food chain White Castle, which a few years ago began giving its restaurants a white-tablecloth treatment for Valentine’s Day, with employees bringing plates of steaming sliders and fries to patrons.
