Tollway oases add charging stations

Stations for charging electric cars have been installed at four Illinois Tollway oases, including the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis in South Holland.

Drivers of electric vehicles can charge their cars in under 30 minutes. At the Lincoln Oasis, the charging station is next to the 7-Eleven store, according to Brian Howe, chief executive of JNS Power & Control Systems, which did the installation at the four oases, including the Des Plaines, Lake Forest and O’Hare rest areas. The company has also installed charging stations at Midway and O’Hare airports, as well as at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Howe said.

Charging stations are also scheduled to be installed at the three remaining tollway oases.
