Tinley development director going to D.C.

Ivan Baker, Tinley Park’s economic development director, will be one of 120 economic development directors from around the country who will take part in the White House Summit on Economic Development on Aug. 28.

The summit will focus on federal economic development policies and programs that will positively impact job creation, and key topics will include manufacturing and work force development. The summit is being coordinated by the White House Business Council, Select USA and the International Economic Development Council. Baker is the only Illinois board member on the IEDC.

Chamber seeks businesses for expo

The Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking businesses to exhibit at the chamber’s Community Expo, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 13 at Sandurg High School, 13300 S. LaGrange Road, Orland Park. Businesses are allowed to sell products at the expo.

Early bird rates are available to exhibitors until Sept. 14 — $199 for chamber members and $349 for nonmembers. After that date, rates increase to $250 for members and $400 for nonmembers. For information, call (708) 349-2972 or visit www.orlandparkchamber.org.
