New Lenox website seeks input on Route 30 project

Updated: November 13, 2012 6:16AM

NEW LENOX — The village of New Lenox is encouraging residents to share their thoughts on the Route 30 development. A new website asks people to offer detailed feedback.

The site includes questionnaires, development maps, land-use maps, project news, workshop schedules and more. The public can make their own maps, and include comments.

For example, someone can indicate that a sidewalk is missing in a certain section on the map, Director of Community Development Robin Ellis told the village board Monday.

The consulting firm, Houseal Lavigne Associates, that is providing the site is then able to compile all the responses from the maps, she said.

This is a great opportunity for residents to keep updated with the Route 30 corridor project, even if they are unable to attend a meeting.

Community involvement on the site is important, said Trustee Annette Bowden. Everyone can have an opinion on the main vein that runs through the village.

The site can be found from the village’s main website, www.newlenox.net. Click on the Route 30 Corridor Plan and there is a link.
