Several members of the DECA and Business Professionals of America internship programs at Hillcrest High School recently converged at Orland Square Mall in a job search quest.
Students spent the evening following up on applications and presenting resumes to prospective employers.
DECA and BPA students are coached by their advisors, Mike Cicirale and Annmarie Deransburg, in professional etiquette in the job search and interviewing processes.
Students made contacts and were able to complete additional applications for employment.
“I learned how to be professional and shake hands with mangers,” said junior DECA student Taylor Guyton. “This field trip benefited me because I learned valuable information that will carry on into my adulthood career development.’’
“My experience was great. I learned to get more involved with the job scene,” said junior DECA student and vice president DaLesha Merrell. “Now I know different ways to interact with managers.”
