George Petraitis, of Palos Heights, has been elected to a five-year term as board chairman for Smith Senior Living, which operates Smith Village in Chicago’s Beverly community and Smith Crossing in Orland Park.
Both are continuing care retirement communities.
Petraitis has served as a board member for more than 10 years, the nonprofit said. He is president of LaMantia Architects Inc., a division of LaMantia Design and Construction Co. in Brookfield.
During the last decade, Smith Senior Living has spent more than $134 million on new construction and renovations for its two campuses. An expansion at Smith Crossing will enable the facility to serve 60 percent more residents.
