Homer Glen to consider tax incentives

The village of Homer Glen is considering adopting new economic incentives to help attract businesses to the community.
The village board at its Jan. 22 meeting will consider incentives including a sales tax sharing agreement. The incentives would be offered only if the development could not occur without them and the business would bring in significant sales tax revenue or new jobs to the village, Janie Patch, the village’s economic development director, said at a recent board meeting.
Industrial group names chairman
Michele Netherton, business development representative with Ingalls Health System, has been named chairman of the board of directors of the Calumet Area Industrial Commission, a Chicago-based business group.
Netherton has been a member of CAIC for eight years and most recently served as vice president and chairman of strategic planning.
About 3,500 toys collected during drive
Orland Park-based Charter Fitness said it collected about 3,500 toys during its 6th annual toy drive held in December. The toys were distributed to organizations such as Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, and the Advocate Children’s Hospital.
