Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley & Sons announced Thursday that it will buy Consolidated Graphics in a deal worth about $620 million.
The acquisition will help R.R. Donnelley, a global provider of integrated communications, expand its commercial printing operations. The Houston-based Consolidated Graphics is one of the largest commercial printing companies in North America.
“Consolidated Graphics is an exceptional fit with RR Donnelley and we are delighted to welcome them to our organization,” Thomas J. Quinlan III, RR Donnelley’s president and chief executive officer said in a statement.
