A Lemont construction equipment supplier is moving to Northwest Indiana and bringing with it several new jobs.
Illini Hi-Reach Inc., which rents and sells platforms, lifts and forklifts, will relocate its headquarters and service hub from 13633 Main St. in Lemont to a 30,000-square-foot facility to be built at 520 E. 110th St. in Crown Point, Indiana. Construction is set to begin next week and be complete by November.
“Indiana’s overall economic health and its positive business environment is an excellent fit for our company,” Larry Workman, president of Illini Hi-Reach, said in a news release.
The company, which employs 30 full-time associates, says it will begin hiring managerial and sales staff, service representatives, trucking personnel and marketing professionals in November. It plans to create up to 13 new jobs by 2017.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Illini Hi-Reach up to $115,000 in tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is not eligible to claim incentives until Indiana residents are hired. The city of Crown Point said it will consider more incentives.
“We are committed to assisting Illini Hi-Reach with all applicable financial incentives,” Crown Point Mayor David Uran said in the release.
