The Matteson Hotel and Conference Center will once again be a Holiday Inn as of January and is getting a major makeover.
“We’re completely renovating all the rooms,” said owner and manager Raavi Sravan, who bought the 200-room hotel with a partner in April. The exterior façade is being renovated now, he said, and Bar Louie will be opening as an in-house restaurant in January.
“That hotel used to be a top grosser in Matteson a few years back,” he said. “It was probably the biggest hotel in the south suburbs. It used to have a helipad, and the first floor itself is about 75,000 square feet.”
Sravan said he liked the hotel’s potential and its location on U.S. 30, just east of Interstate 57.
“This is the place to be because we have everything in one space,” he said. “This is the only full-service hotel in Matteson.”
