Will County sheriff’s office taking applications for correctional officer

The Will County sheriff’s office will accept job applications for the position of correctional officer until noon Feb. 2. An exam will be given Feb. 11.

A limit of 400 applications will be accepted. Applications are available online at www.willcosheriff.org/pages/employment/coemployment.html, from any Will County sheriff’s office or from the Merit Commission office, 57 N. Ottawa, Suite 502, Joliet.

The application should be filled out completely and returned by mail or in person with a nonrefundable $25 fee, payable by check or money order.

The salary for a correctional officer is $37,085 to start and tops out at $68,390.

Uniforms and training are provided.

Applicants will be notified by mail with the details of the test, after their application has been processed and approved.
