Workshops focus on starting a business

CenterPoint at Governors State University is sponsoring free, two-hour workshops focusing on the personal, financial and legal aspects of starting a business. Attendees will learn about resources available to new business owners.
Workshops will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Oak Lawn Public Library, 9427 S. Raymond Ave., at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Kallsen Center in Tinley Park Village Hall, 16250 S. Oak Park Ave., and at 1 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Palos Heights Public Library, 12501 S. 71st St.

CenterPoint is an Illinois Small Business Development Center offering professional assistance, counseling, training and support services to entrepreneurs. It is supported by state and federal grants.
Learn about the Oak Lawn Chamber
The Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce will hold a breakfast for new and prospective chamber members starting at 8 a.m. Feb. 15 at Jason’s Deli, 6260 W. 95th St.
There is no cost to new and prospective chamber members, but current members are asked to make a $5 donation.
