Union Street Gallery, 1527 Otto Blvd., Chicago Heights, hosts a poetry-spoken word open mike night Feb. 4 in conjunction with the closing of the latest exhibit.

Feb. 3’s Weekend magazine will feature a preview of Gary Griffin directing “The Color Purple” at the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University.
There also will be features about Chicago Children’s Museum’s “Circus Zirkus,” the Drama Group’s “Noises Off,” Bill Cosby at Rialto Square Theatre, the movie “Underworld Awakening,” and Illinois Theatre Center’s latest production.
