SXU summer concert, fireworks show Sunday

St. Xavier University’s 16th Annual Summer Concert and Fireworks show is slated for 7 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Greenwood community school’s campus, 3700 W. 103rd St. in Chicago.
The free event, which is open to the public, will feature The New Odyssey Band, which is to perform until 10 p.m. on the front steps of the Warde Academic Center. The event will conclude with a patriotic finale and fireworks display at 9:45 p.m.
The community is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and refreshments will be sold by vendors including The Original Rainbow Cone, Gilhooley’s Grande Saloon, Calabria Imports, Fat Tommy’s, Happy Jack’s and the SXU Alumni Association. Attendees also may bring refreshments.
