GSU to host ‘Reclaim the Prairie’ event

The Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park at Governors State University is looking for volunteers to help during its “Reclaim the Prairie!” restoration event at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at the school, 1 University Parkway, University Park.
The event will begin in the university’s cafeteria annex with a short introduction on prairie restoration by Kavin Barto, the school’s superintendent of grounds. Participants will then fan out in a specified area of the sculpture part to harvest and then sow prairie seed.
Hot cider and pumpkin squares will be served after seeding. Reservations are requested.
