Here are events worth getting out of the house for on March 4.

Suggestions include Pulaski Day options in Park Forest, Oak Lawn and Orland Park.

PULASKI DAY: It is not just a day off from school for some. Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Blvd., will present “Who is Casimir Pulaski?” at 2 p.m. Attendees will learn more about the day’s namesake soldier. Information: (708) 748-3731, pfpl.org.

‘HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA’: Oak Lawn Public Library, 9427 S. Raymond Ave., screens family films in the lower-level meeting room during school holidays. For Pulaski Day, the animated comedy “Hotel Transylvania,” which runs for 1 hour and 31 minutes, will be shown at 2 p.m. Registration is not required. Information: (708) 422-4990, www.lib.oak-lawn.il.us.

MOVIE DAY: The Bridge Teen Center, 15555 S. 71st Court, Orland Park, will turn the Garage into a movie theater for youngsters looking for something to do on Pulaski Day. “Pirates of the Caribbean” will be shown at 3 p.m. to seventh- to 12th-graders with a membership application on file. Popcorn will be free. Information: thebridgeteencenter.org, where one can sign up to attend this event, or (708) 532-0500.
