LIBRARY LECTURE: Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Blvd., hosts a series of free spring potpourri lectures. June Gerrish will speak on “The Tradition of Non-Violent Resistance as Demonstrated in the Life of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Aung Suu Kyi, Myanmar” at 10:30 a.m. in the Ringering Room. FINE ARTS FESTIVAL: Bremen Community High School District 228’s Fine Arts Department will host this free 39th annual fest at Hillcrest High School, 17401 S. Pulaski Road, Country Club Hills, (708) 799-7000. Artwork created by students from the district’s four high schools is on display from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A concert begins at 7 p.m. and includes performances by the district’s Festival Concert Choir, Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble. Guest conductors include James Yarbrough; David Eanes, director of bands for Thornridge High School in Dolton; and Andy Hofle, director of the Symphonic Band and director of music education at South Suburban College in South Holland.
