CSI @ FLOSSMOOR LIBRARY: This program for sixth- to 12th-graders will be at 2:30 p.m. at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave. Steve Banasiak, a forensic instructor from Homewood-Flossmoor High School, will give a hands-on presentation on how detectives use forensic science to solve crimes. FARMERS MARKET: Cook County School District 130 hosts its annual farmers market from 3 to 7 p.m. Mondays to Oct. 7 in the parking lot of Beggars Pizza, 12660 Western Ave., Blue Island. Vendors will sell items including homemade tamales and handpicked fruits and vegetables. District 130 serves nearly 4,100 students at 13 school sites that serve portions of Alsip, Blue Island, Crestwood and Robbins.
