Get Up and Go! for Sept. 13, 2013

Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Sept. 13.

Suggestions include Flossmoor, Chicago Ridge and Orland Park.

KNITTING SIT-IN: Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host this event for all ages and skill levels from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the conference room. Attendees can work on all types of projects under the direction of Dolores Janowiak. Teaching materials will be available to get started. Participants should bring their yarn and needles. HOMESCHOOL HAPPENINGS: Chicago Ridge Public Library will offer this group’s meeting at 1 p.m. at 10400 Oxford Ave. The September session will cover the newly updated thematic bins. Information: chicagoridge.lib.il.us or (708) 423-7753.

MINUTE TO WIN IT: Orland Park Public Library, 14921 Ravinia Ave., will present this program for sixth to 12th-graders at 7 p.m. Participants will have one minute to complete different tasks to win prizes at the event, which was inspired by the TV game show “Minute to Win It.” Information: Nancy Heuser at (708) 428-5127 or orlandparklibrary.org.
