Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Sept. 19.
Suggestions include Frankfort and Flossmoor.
300 FOR 300,000 CAMPAIGN: The Frankfort sweetFrog Premium Frozen Yogurt, 9645 Lincoln Way Lane, is celebrating its 300th store nationwide by connecting children struggling with hunger with up to 300,000 meals through Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. The local store also is collecting canned and nonperishable food for the local food bank through Sunday, which sweetFrog has declared No Kid Hungry Day. Also, the first 300 people who visit on Sunday in Frankfort can enter a chance to win one of three national prizes of 100 free 12-ounce cups of frozen yogurt. The Frankfort location is open from noon to 9:30 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, noon to 10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 9:30 p.m. Sundays. Information: (815) 277-2269 or sweetfrogyogurt.com.
PAWS TO READ: Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host this program from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Attendees of all ages can read to the canine visitors and create a doggy craft. Information: (708) 798-3600 or flossmoorlibrary.org.
