Here is a New Lenox event worth getting out of the house for on Dec. 5 to 7.
Madrigal Dinner: The Lincoln-Way West High School Music Department presents this fifth annual performance at 6 p.m. (5:30 p.m. doors) Thursday to Saturday at the Lincoln-Way West Performing Arts Center, 21701 S. Gougar Road, New Lenox.
This year’s theme is “Madrigals Around the World” and will feature songs in Latin, Italian, French, German and Spanish as well as English. The singers also will perform carols from Poland and the Ukraine.
Student vocalists have been working since July to prepare nearly an hour’s worth of music ranging from the 16th century to modern times.
The stage will be transformed into a castle courtyard for the guests while the singers and actors will present a heartwarming show that incorporates more than 30 songs within the play.
The choral director is Tom Venutolo.
Tickets for the show and full three-course dinner from Polonia Catering & Market, of Mokena, are $28 each at (815) 717-3507 or email@example.com.
