Checkmate With Chuck: The Bridge Teen Center, 15555 S. 71st Court, Orland Park, hosts this program from 4:30 to 6 p.m. There will be basic instruction about chess, rules and strategy for those who are new to the game. “Holiday Affair”: CineVerse film discussion group screens this 1949 movie from 7 to 10 p.m. at 4625 W. 110th St., Oak Lawn. Chosen by CineVerse member Danealle Kueltzo, the flick is directed by Don Hartman. The film runs for 1 hour and 27 minutes.
