Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Dec. 27.

Suggestions include Midlothian, Homewood and Oak Lawn.

Wild About Dinosaurs: Midlothian Public Library offers facts, stories, songs and a craft at 1 p.m. at 14701 S. Kenton Ave. The program is best for ages 3 to 7 but all are welcome. Registration is required at (708) 535-2027 or midlothianlibrary.org.

Gaming Extravaganza Weekend: Homewood Public Library hosts this event for seventh-graders to age 25 who are interested in Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, board games, chess, etc., at 6 p.m. Friday to Sunday at 17917 Dixie Highway.
