Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Jan. 1.

New Year’s Day Pajama Brunch: Wiley’s Grill, 800 Kedzie Ave., Flossmoor, hosts this event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The venue is located at the Coyote Run Golf Course. Tickets are $13.95 at the door, $5.95 for ages 7 to 12 and free for ages 6 and younger. Those who arrive in their pajamas will receive a free gift card to Wiley’s. The 1950s Park Forest House Museum: Located at 141 Forest Blvd., the museum is an original rental townhome built in 1947 to 1949 by American Community Builders. The museum is furnished as it might have been from 1948 to 1953, which were the first five years of tenant occupancy. Exhibits typically are themed with holidays. Regular museum hours are 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays and by appointment. New Year’s Day hours are by appointment at (708) 481-4252 or (708) 305-3308.
