Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Jan. 2.
Suggestions include Monee and Orland Park.
Warm Up To Snowshoeing: Monee Reservoir hosts this event for ages 7 and older from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are more than two miles of trails to explore. Snowshoe rentals are $10 per pair, and a $10 cash deposit along with a valid driver’s license or state identification card is required. Attendees should dress for the weather. Participants will snowshoe on natural surface trails across uneven terrain. Information: reconnectwithnature.org or (708) 534-8499.
