Here are events worth getting out of the house for on Jan. 17.

Suggestions include Olympia Fields, Oak Lawn and Oak Forest.

Dream Like A King: Sgt. Means Silo, 20712 Western Ave., Olympia Fields, hosts this free celebration from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Artwork, short stories, artifacts, etc., that depict the history of Martin Luther King Jr.’s work and the Civil Rights Movement will be featured. There also will be an open house to honor MLK as well as Black History Month. Information: (708) 481-7313.

Joe “Elvis” Tirrito: Stony Creek Golf Course, 5850 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, presents this performance at 7 p.m. Fee is $12 (includes food and beverage). Reservations: (708) 857-2433 or golfstonycreek.com.

The Irish House Party Show: Chicago Gaelic Park, 6119 W. 147th St., Oak Forest, hosts this event with doors at 7 p.m. Band members Declan Quinn, Gerry Nolan, Aedin Martin and Chicago native Isaac Alderson have been immersed in traditional Irish music from an early age.
