Movie Luncheon: The Center, 12700 Southwest Highway, Palos Park, hosts a film tribute to Margaret “Mardy” Murie from noon to 2 p.m. “Arctic Dance” is a film about her life and work as an arctic dogsledder, wilderness adventurer and explorer. Murie was committed to protecting wilderness as public lands and is known as the grandmother of the conservation movement. The film is narrated by Harrison Ford with music by John Denver and interviews with Murie. Cost is $17 per person and requires advance reservations. Information: (708) 361-3650.
Partners In Crime: Tinley Park Public Library, 7851 Timber Drive, hosts this mystery and suspense thrillers book discussion group meeting from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The group for adults meets on the first Tuesday of each month except July, September and January.
