Here is a look at top events you won’t want to miss.
Suggestions include the North American Reptile Breeders Conference in Tinley Park, the Oak Forest Community Awareness Fair, and Oct. 7’s Weekend magazine.
Reptile show
The North American Reptile Breeders Conference will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct 9 at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18501 S. Harlem Ave., (708) 444-1100. Information: narbc.com.
Community fair
The 31st annual Community Awareness Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 at Oak Forest High School, 151st Street and Central Avenue. Information: (708) 687-4600, oc-chamber.org.
Weekend
Oct. 7’s Weekend magazine will include an interview with Dolton native Jane Lynch, who is on a book tour for her memoir, “Happy Accidents” (Voice).
Other features will include movie reviews of “Real Steel” and “The Ides of March,” previews of “There’s Fun to Be Done! Dr. Seuss & the Art of Invention” at the Museum of Science and Industry and “Chocolate: Around the World” at the Field Museum, and a review of “For the Boys” at Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire.
